HIGHLIGHTS FOR Q-1 OF 2009-10 AT MADURAI LPG PLANT

1. Production achieved at 10770 MT against AOP of 9300 MT, a growth of 16% over AOP. Executed 100% indents and ensured no backlog in the market. In addition to normal refill loads, we have executed 10775 – NC ; 5910 – DBC ; and TN CM Free Connections – 2894 during the quarter.

2. Production Incentive achieved cumulatively 128.94% against the target of 120%. Registered highest ever production during June, 09 at 132.11% without incurring any overtime. Needless to mention to here that our Plant has been consistently recording Production Incentive over 120% right from August, 2008 and thus maintaining for the last 11 months consecutively.

3. ND Sales packed registered 719.78 MT as against the historical of 544.6 MT, and thus a growth of 32.16%.
4. Stock Loss maintained at 22.81 MT gain as of June, 09, i.e. + 0.19% against AOP limit of -0.015%. This has been possible due to constant monitoring of calibration of filling guns on hourly basis, LPG Compressors are set to trip at a min. of 1.0 kg/cm2 suction pressure for bulk decanting, regular calibration of TT Weigh Bridge and cross checking the same on monthly basis etc. are some of the measures contributed for the above gain.

5. Highest ever revenue generation realized thru Scrap Sales of Rs. 33.55 lakhs during the quarter. Processed 7 RFDs during the quarter and disposed off 2000 cylinders, 80000 SC Valves, 4500 DPR and 7.2 MT of Misc. Steel. In addition to above, we have cleared old pending plastic Safety Caps & used Waste Oil as per TNPCB Approved Vendor List.

6. Mock Drill conducted on 25th May, 2009 in the presence of Dy. Ch. Inspector of Factories, Fire Service Personnel, Mutual Aid Members and other Govt. Authorities. Dy. Ch. Inspector of Factories and other Govt. Officials have appreciated the team members and their preparedness during Mock Drill.

7. Coordinated and organized an Ambulance for the Oil Industry from M/s Apollo Specialty Hospitals, Madurai effective 03/06/09 from 06.00 A.M. to 06.00 P.M. Madurai LPG Plant is the nodal agency for this activity. An MOU has been signed between Oil Industry and M/s Apollo Specialty Hospital, Madurai on 03/06/09. A few photos are attached.

8. SHE Index achieved for the first quarter is 94.55%. Compliance of MDSA(only 3 points pending out of 9 points) and other Safety Audits, timely renewal of all Licenses, employees health records etc. are contributed for the above SHE Index.
9. Emergency Preparedness Training on Hydrant Hose Handling, Wearing of Breathing Apparatus, Fire Fighting, First Aid etc. was imparted by external faculty M/s National Institute of Fire Engineering to our employees, Contract labor, Security and Mutual Aid Members(HPCL POL / IOCL Terminal). 10. Successfully completed and commissioned two nos. of 50 MT LPG Bullets for Hydro Testing and Calibration in May, 2009.
11. Single Head Sealing Unit – an innovation project ( as discussed in Plant Mgrs. Conference at Jaipur) fabricated and commissioned on 29th June, 2009. This single head is sealing 40 nos. cylinders per minute. A few photos are attached.

12. A Diesel Tank Trolley of 850 litres for transportation from POL Depot to Plant, fabricated and commissioned as per HQO’s (Ch. Manager-Operations/Maintenance) advice. A cost saving of Rs. 28800/- per annum (4 trips per month @ Rs. 600/- per trip).

13. We have discussed with employees on actual Working Hours in a single shift plant as per advice received from LPG SBU-SZ, and convinced the employees to implement 8.00 hours as effective working hours. The same has been implemented and we have gained operating hours by 35 minutes per shift from 19/06/2009. This is yet another milestone in the history of Madurai LPG Plant.
